Bob Hartley having a lengthy chat with Jakub Nakladal this AM. To clarify, lengthy means one AM skate lap.
Um, that only confused things for me. What does that phrase mean? He skated him for a lap while talking to him?

Yup, with Bollig on his wing. Cripes.

I know Colborne hasn't been great lately, but for god's sakes, play him with Bennett over Bollig.

Don't think it matters all that much. Frolik is on the other side. This is about Bennett getting used to the speed and responsibility of that position at the NHL level.

With so much good-in-room/grit/heart/character there on the left side, there is no way Bennett or Frolik will look slow.

The question won't be if that line will score, but how many times.

At this stage of the game I don't think lines matter all that much. Glad Bennett is in the middle and I like the looks of that line. I'm betting they score.

Hope Nakaladal gets a lot of minutes, looked good on the PP.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Looks like Bollig and Bouma will sit tonight, but Hartley not confirming anything regarding lineup changes up front. #Flames

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Russell officially out tonight. #Flames

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
And Stajan is in, for what it's worth.

#Flames Bob Hartley just told media Matt Stajan is in. Lance Bouma and Brandon Bollig are still on ice, appear to be odd-men out. #CGYvsMIN

Bob Hartley also told media Sam Bennett will not play centre tonight...so throw my projected lines in the garbage. #Flames #CGYvsMIN

Has there been any discernible difference in the quality of Bennett's play at wing than his play at centre this year? I haven't really kept track.

I believe so, yes. "Lengthy" = they took a slow lap together and chatted.

I assume then its

Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Bennett-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan-Jones
Colborne-Granlund-Jooris

I'd swap Ferland & Colborne

That's what I'm thinking will be the lines too.

As a fan and someone who cares about the long-term growth of the team, I can't watch any more games with Hiller in net. His play is excruciating to watch and, more importantly, I think it reflects badly on management's (and coaching's) long-term vision.

Minny's new coach, combined with Hiller in goal and the Flames' inability to execute a zone entry...this feels like a stinker.

4-0 Minnesota.

And Hiller gets the next start.

Hopefully Bouma starts caring again next season. Got a decent contract for a bottom 6 player and now he's mailing it in.

I'm going to get drunk and yell a lot tonight in order to over-compensate for my feelings of hopelessness and frustration about this season.

Flames players hear me and fuels them to turn season around. Stanley cup is passed to me first.
