At least Gaudreau/Monahan/Hamilton got a bunch of points. As well as Hudler upping his trade value!

We better hope John Gillies develops into a pro REAL fast or make some kind of a deal for a goalie if we hope to contend over the next few years.

I'm hoping that 4 or 5 guys on the team now are not in two weeks. Just have to play the kids in the last 26 games to see which if any are ready for spots for next year.

Goaltending certainly hasnt helped but this team simply doesn't play good fundamental hockey.

Ugh, I know that our defense hasn't been spectacular, but Hiller and Ortio are no where near good enough to be anything but back-ups.
For Ortio, I hope he just needs a boost of confidence.

Agreed and this is why we need to just sell off and continue this rebuild. We have a lot of good pieces, but we need more before we can become playoff worthy. Also we need a goalie who can stop more than a beachball

This is the first time in 30+ years I wish the team will lose in mid. season and hope for a higher pick. So disappointing as a fan.......

Not to point the finger too much in one direction, but I do believe a team plays a lot differently when they don't believe the guy back there will stop anything.

The good news is that there's no reason to keep your UFAs anymore so it should be, a fire sale.

I just can't agree with you that Hiller is a back-up.
Back-ups still have to play sometimes.

The Flames still have two games in hand on the Oilers, are a +10 on their goal differential, and have +5 ROWs. Edmonton is not catching the Flames.

Goaltending and penalty killing are just killing this team.
Ramo gave us decent goaltending, but I would expect that his season has ended.
Should be an interesting trade deadline for a season of disappointment.

What is that cardboard cut out that was in net for Hiller in practise the other day up to? Maybe they can start it next game?

It sure would be nice to get rid of Smid as he was pretty bad today although it's hard to single out just one defensemen when the entire group is so soft. They just let the ducks walk in and shoot from the slot on a few of those goals or left guys like Perry all alone in front of the goaltender.

This is the team we expected to see last year. Just not a very good team. We are small, lack mid to high end talent, have extremely poor decision making, no intensity or physicality. Just a poor team. Team shave caught onto the stretch pass and we don't have an answer for zone entries beside that.
I get that Gaudreau has continued to put up points but I personally believe he has been terrible for two or three weeks now. Way to predictable and way to many turnovers. Not saying anything other than that, he'll learn from this (I hope) but he shouldn't get a pass for his poor play.
Make the right decision personnel wise moving forward and don't get caught up in what we did last year. Keep building

Nice interview with Nakladal on the fan. Hated losing, liked the minutes he got. Sounds like a likeable guy. Give him more time.

Teams not great, but the goaltending is terrible.
Also a lot of money tied up in sub par veteran NHL depth players.
Sell.
Have a good draft.
Try to improve the goaltending in the off season.
Hope some younger guys step up and take NHL some jobs next year.
Flames are still just 2 3/4 seasons into this rebuild.

Yeah but the way they play they really do need a Carey Price type of goaltender to cover up all the mistakes in their own end as they rarely play that type of game where they shut down opposing offenses. I just wonder if Treliving and Burke are getting tired of watching this team play this way with the bad special teams and defensive play. Sure they will bring in new goaltenders but it's hard to expect new guys to just come in and bail out this club.
