Oilers are playing with some swagger with the addition of McDavid. I look forward to the days when both teams meet up in the playoffs.

They've beaten up on literally the worst team in the NHL right now and they're beating up on the Senators who are 4-6 in their last ten and a game over .500 on the season.

It's nothing to write home about. With that said, I hope they continue to win, just enough to finish a hair outside the playoffs.

His first regular NHL fight was against Milan Lucic. Hunter Smith (preseason) isn't a small guy either.

Their fans and media are the worst. I can only imagine at seasons end: "if McDavid didn't get hurt we would have made the playoffs, next year is the year." It's going to be epic.

How'd he do against Lucic? I actually forgot he fought Smith.

Ok, so Brendan Smith just hammered the referee from behind as he was pursuing the puck on the forecheck. Didn't try to get out of the way at all. The only thing Smith didn't do was extend his hands, but absolutely bodychecked the ref and could have easily held up or gotten out of the way.

40 games?

He's had 2 regular season NHL fights. The first one was against Milan Lucic (233lbs, 6'3"). Darnell is 6'4", 213 lbs.

He held on for dear life. It was kind of a hugging affair.

Decision to Lucic, but he hung in there. Lucic's jersey came up and Nurse was swimming a bit because of it. Lucic attempted and landed more but neither guy landed big and did any real damage.

Oh I completely agree that their opponents have been horrible, but keep in mind that the Oilers are one of the last placed teams currently (and obviously for the last few years). Their game play relative to prior to the all-star break looks improved.

2 octopi on the ice in south Florida. Oh Detroit...don't waste all your magic on a game you're about to lose!

89.9% in favour of a Lucic win, 6.5% draw.

Tried to watch a bit of the game, and heard the pbp guy gushing over connor skating to a puck or something and had to shut it off. It is just too much for a flames fan to listen too

That's Drew Remenda for you. I think he'd sleep with McDavid if given the opportunity and I'm not even kidding.

Watched a couple minutes earlier while the misses and I were preparing dinner. Zach Kassian scored and Drew Remenda went on about how happy everyone was for Zach and how excited they all were that he scored.

Cut to a shot of the bench with a rather pedestrian bench celebration. Nothing different about it at all from any other goal.

Remenda also commented how smart McDavid was, by not going on the ice to cause a two many men penalty. Another normal play that got praised.

Panthers hang on to win 6-3. After their 4 game slide, they have won 5 in a row. 7 points up on 2nd place Tampa Bay.

Cali, what was the score the last time the Panthers played the Flames? My short term memory is terrible...
