Bump...

Got my package in the mail for the city census. I was assigned an area to complete. Looks like it will be a PITA, but a few bucks is better than no bucks.

Anyone applied and heard from the federal one yet?? I wrote a test for a "supervisor" position but haven't heard anything back yet.

I did the federal test on Monday and the tester mentioned they wouldn't be contacting people until mid March at the earliest. But that was with regards to non supervisory and I would assume that the supervisor positions will be decided upon early.

One census the person who was going door to door didn't even knock on anyone's doors - they just went to every door and left a call back notice. At the time I was a student and had some days where I'd be home all day. My girlfriend came home and notice the call back notification, even though I knew they hadn't knocked on my door that day. There were also notices on everyone else's dorrs.

I wonder if that's a better strategy? Just start leaving call back notices and don't bother waiting at the door for the first round or two?

The city's door-to-door collection started today.

I am a census taker... if you meet me then you must say "the sky is blue," to which I will reply: "and the C is red".

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I did the test downtown last week. Positive I aced it but they said, for our class at least, that we wouldn't hear from them until the last week of May.

Also, I'm in the deep NW and will be actively watching for any red vans in the area.

I've got a call this morning about doing a enumeration test for the federal census that's running this summer, anyone know of more details about the test and about the job (pay, work hours, etc.)?

The test is really easy. Bring a calculator if you are not very good at simple math (I didn't have a calculator with me but the math was easy enough to do in my head or on paper.) It was 15 questions and takes about 20 minutes.

The website says that the pay is $16.31 and I was told that expected work hours can be anywhere from 20 to 40 per week and work can be any time during the day and evening and on weekends. They also reimburse for some expenses.
