My guess is Smid in tonight and Nak on Friday.

Unless they got permission to put Wideman as non-roster for his suspension.
The Flames can put Wideman in the IR for concussion symptoms, or just waive him and park him in the minors?

Hopefully Hartley doesn't staple his butt to the press box and actually lets him play some games, would like to see him play a few games

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Jakub Nakladal is here and on the ice for morning skate. We’ll see if he plays tonight. #Flames

I doubt he plays tonight

I assumed Wideman would be non roster as he is suspended?

Not sure....

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
#Flames at 23 on active roster. Hartley said yesterday Ferland will play tonight, so roster move is needed. Ferland on the ice now, too.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Granlund is also on the ice this morning, so no indication he’s AHL bound at this point. #Flames

I believe they can't do either while he is suspended.

Even if they could, putting him on waivers now would not resolve in time for tonight's game anyway. And I think putting him on IR would only delay the start of his suspension.

I hope he gets a real audition during this call-up.

Probably better if he gets a practice in and some time to collect himself before being thrown right in though.

As long as Hartley is still coaching this team, I doubt Nak sees a second of NHL game time.

I really hope Nakladal plays great and makes Russell more expendable. I think either him or Morrison (I still really like the kid) will have a full time spot on the team next year.

Who have they done that to?

They've had 3 AHL call-ups this season (really, that's it?), and all three have played the majority of games they were available for.

The Ortio situation was a mess, but that was a completely different set of circumstances.

I'm tempering my expecations, because stapling Nakladal to the press box is exactly what I expect to happen. Even if he does draw in, he'll get <10min of ice time.

Why is that? I don't think he's had a problem giving guys game-time if they're ready. Kulak was on the opening night roster
