For all those who are complaining, you should live somewhere where you can't find simple things like rubber O rings, dryer plugs, wire nuts, good paint brushes etc, etc. I would kill for ANY of those stores to be here.

Completely unrelated question, but does anyone know why there are no Home Hardware stores in Calgary?
Because they place a priority on small town values dammit!
There used to be at least one. Chesney Home Hardware. I thought it used to be on Edmonton Trail as well, but a quick google say in the NE just off Barlow. No idea if they moved before closing.

They did move - the one just off Edmonton Trail was kind of weird and always felt like an afterthought.
The one on 5th Ave was never very busy. It shut down a while ago. I preferred going there as opposed to the nearby Home Depot or Canadian Tire. Sometimes there is too much selection, and if I just need a standard part it was easier to find than looking at a shelf with hundreds of minute variations and wondering which of the 3 that look close are actually the right one.

Sure, unless the one you want is in the 2 out of 3 they don't carry...
Me too. The staff seemed much more knowledgeable and engaged.
Last time I was in Lowe's had had to search around for a staff person, and when I finally found someone they looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
