Apparently the puck struck his carotid artery, rupturing it and sending him into cardiac arrest which he was never able to recover from.

Also it was mentioned he was a top prospect for next years draft.

Really really sad stuff.

After reflecting on it, and how horrible the result was for that player, his family and his team, my thoughts turned to the guy that shot the puck and how he deals with this. No idea what that would be like for him.
