Oh, then he'll never hack it in Edmonton. For them its First Round or nothing.

Yup, Gustav Forsling looked very good at the recent WJHC tourney for Sweden. Just what the Hawks needed, another good young player.

I keep getting this guy mixed up with Luke Glendening. I'm all like "whaaaaat? DET let Glendening go?! When?" every time I see Clendenings name pop up.

With the addition of this guy and McJesus coming back, they'll make a huge push for the "not last in the west" spot they've been so close to for a few years.

But the push will fall short due to injuries and biased reffing.

What? No... It's always either the coach's fault, or the goalie's. Duh

Does this push Norris Schultz out of the lineup?

The fact that you are talking about high draft pick with 3 years of NHL experience and earns a significant amount of money and you arent entirely insane is hilarious.

The 'Hawks knew that with TVR, Svedberg, Gustafsson, and Pokka, all close to being NHL ready, last year, that Clendening wasn't going to get a chance in the foreseeable future. The trade was Clendening for rights to an 18yo, Forsling, that could develop in Europe for a few years, before a decision needed to be made. There was nothing overtly wrong with Clendening, and he seemed solid enough in his brief time with the 'Hawks...he was just caught on the wrong side of a log jam at D.

Yeah, has anything happened over the last year to suggest that this guy doesn't have the potential to be a decent NHL regular? He seemed well on his way to being that when he was with Chicago, there just wasn't any room for him there. Surprised this happened.

My guess is they stay as close to the bottom as possible. These guys don't care if they get another shot at the first. I think they re hovering where they are for a reason.

Immediately becomes the league's most overrated defenceman.

(Would have claimed him if I had the chance)

Wow, they now have 3 full pairings of Giordanos. Might as well end the season now and award them the Cup.
