Powerplay Quarterback

Patrick Roy dressed for the Colorado Avalanche in practice this morning and may have to serve as emergency backup to Roman Will for tonight's game.
Calvin Pickard will be a game time decision with the flu, Semyon Varlamov is in court dealing with a civil lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, and Reto Berra remains out with an ankle injury.

Well now I have to watch that game for a bit just to see Roy in his equipment again.
Edit: Dang it! He's in a suit. Guess he won't be playing tonight.

Ottawa ties it at the horn!?
Maybe.
No goal, by about 0.1 second!

Ottawa scored just 0.1 after the game ended, which would have been the tying goal. Ouch.

BJs and Sabres win and draw 2 points closer to us LOL. Looks like WPG will win as well. ANA is 2 points further away now.

The Flames are within 2 points of dead last.

After one period
Karlsson and Hertl have scored for the Sharks, 2-0 San Jose.
Craig Smith scores 59 seconds into the game, 1-0 Predators. Sutter scores later on to tie the game and it is 1-1.

What a fraud the Habs are. They have no depth. Price goes down and they're the worst team in the league. 6 million for Petry. Yikes.

Those games only matter if they win, and based on recent play, that seems unlikely.

Regardless I think we can realistically discuss the fact that the Flames have a good shot at the first overall pick whether they finish 30th or finish low enough to get solid lottery odds. I haven't particularly enjoyed the hockey this season so if the team wins the lottery that would make up for it.

And just for fun, on Dec. 5th the Montreal Canadiens led the Panthers by 15 points. After tonight, the Panthers now lead the Canadiens by 11 points, meaning there was a 26 point turn around between these two teams. In short, Panthers are good and Montreal is not.

they are going to be a dangerous team in the playoffs, young squad but with Jagr/Luongo there they have the needed veteran experience, and with Luongo they have a goalie that has already won a few rounds on his own
really looking forward to seeing them in April and hopefully further

Really? You consider it more likely that the Flames drop ALL FOUR? I recognise they are not playing well, but that is still a far cry from a six-game losing streak. I don't see it happening.

I look games over/under 0.500 as it takes games played out of it. Flames are 2 games under and Columbus/Oilers are 8 games under. That's a fair amount of difference

The Canes deserve full marks...but, the 'Hawks started their ASG break even before the puck drop...this was a non-conference road game sleepwalk.

The Sharks kept the pace of two goals per period and went on to pound the Avalanche 6-1.
The Predators-Canucks game remained 1-1 well into the third period. James Neal scores the winning goal for the Predators from a nice shot off the wing, 2-1 final in regulation time.
