I couldn't find any clips, but Audie Murphy in Red Bad of Courage was exceptional, the final battle scene really rivaled the final battle scene from more modern civil war movies.
One that I don't class as vintage yet. But Glory, to me was such an exceptional movie. But my favorite scene was the night before the battle at fort wagner
I will be manly enough to admit that there were lots of scenes in that movie that made me kind of wet in the eyes
Also I wanted to add, the catch scene in field of dreams.
Also wanted to add the battle scene from Spartacus

I'm a video posting struggler on CP, but mama's wake scene with Michael, Fredo and Al Neri in Godfather II is all kinds of brilliant. Fredo thinks it's forgiveness and welcome back to the family, for Michael it's a goodbye because he's already made up his mind and for Neri it's a another brutal task that needs doing for a soulless boss against his equally vile turncoat brother. It's a short scene but so much is happening with facial expressions and body language but no dialog. Coppola is a master.
