Christ, that connection hadn't even occurred to me... This guy has a prominent job writing about hockey and David Alter is unemployed.

Well now I'm just irritated...

That tweet is over the line.

No reason to insult Burger King employees like that

Cox has been a terrible writer for years. Hope he's let go. He adds no real value to sportsnet hockey coverage.

That’s just garbage. Clean it up, Damien. That’s hypocritical, asinine nonsense.

It's all one network so don't hold your breath, Sportsnet has even managed to stifle Cherry.

I hope this puts the final nail in the coffin that is his career, guy is a hack and clearly is grasping for attention. Just brutal, as if Big Ern hasn't dealt with this enough in his life already.

Really? Even after the above (OP)? That was way over the line, and exceedingly unprofessional.

I side with Jiri above - get rid of Cox and employ one of the guys who recently lost their job.

Cox is a blowhard that only seeks to draw attention to himself and his self righteous BS and never once comes across as genuine, unless you are talking about his DB levels. Cherry may be a blowhard as well but he usual as a reason to draw attention to certain issue and rarely to himself.

Cox is a lowest common denominator type.

Cox is scum. We've known this for literally decades.

However, McGrattan is 34. Head trauma isn't something you just shake off. Especially not like that.

I don't think Big Ern has a death wish. I sincerely hope nothing bad happens to him on the ice, and I think the sooner he calls it quits, the better.

Damien apology below. My guess is that his bosses made him do it.

Damien Cox ‏@DamoSpin 6h6 hours ago My recent use of "suicidal" in a tweet has offended some, including @bigern10 . To him and others insulted/offended, I apologize. 1/3

Damien Cox ‏@DamoSpin 6h6 hours ago
My intent was to draw attention to the serious long-term consequences of fighting in hockey, CTE and brain injuries. 2/3

Damien Cox ‏@DamoSpin 6h6 hours ago
I have supported and will continue to support mental health initiatives such as #BellLetsTalk My message got mixed up in my words. 3/3

Damien Cox ‏@DamoSpin 6h6 hours ago
Finally, I wish @bigern10 a swift recovery from his injuries and best of luck as he continues to pursue his career.

He tried a 'take the moral high ground' tweet earlier in his timeline. Came off as extra d-bagesque.
