so former 1st rounder traded for 2 waiver wire scrubs...

if that was all it cost surprised no other teams jumped in on this

reported Habs were looking for 2 second rounders this past summer
Elliott was just put on waivers by the Coyotes a few days back. So basically NHL/AHL tweeners traded for each other with Scott thrown in for fun.

I would think this is the cheapest it's ever cost to acquire a player who led All-Star vote.

So I would assume the allure for the Canadians is that Elliot has cleared waivers so they can send him down and they were worried they'd lose Tinordi for nothing if they put him on waivers instead of rotting as a healthy scratch like he has been all year.

Pretty odd situation. Only thing that comes close was Sandis Ozolinsh in the 2003 All Star Game. Ozolinsh was voted in as a starter for the host Panther team. Days before the game he was traded to the Ducks. Ozolinsh didn't go to the skill competition and at the game didn't wear any team patch.

Was announced as "From your Florida Panthers but now playing for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, #8 Sandis Ozolinsh"

You would think McKenzie would be smart enough to figure that out.

But then the storey would end there. He has hours to fill before the games start later.

I'll be real disappointed if this results in Scott not being in the All Star game.

Tinordi didn't get a good enough look in Mtl. Therrien wouldn't let him play, make mistakes and learn. I think he needed a new home.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Elliott and Scott to Montreal for Tinordi. Habs now trying to send Elliott to Nashville for Victor Bartley. Being held up at the moment.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Pending trade call, NSH sending Victor Bartley to MTL for Stefan Elliott. But not a done deal yet.

Well if Tinordi is worth an All-Star, Justin Schultz might be worth a HOFer.

Schultz traded to Boston for Eddie Shore?

Finally the Oilers get an NHL-calibre defenceman. All they need is for it to be 1930 again.
