I used to buy $200 jeans, but while comfortable, they don't last long. Now I'm only willing to spend only around $70. I usually go to The Bay, Banana Republic Factory outlet, or The Gap. If you're ever around a Nordstrom's Rack, you can get the designer jeans for about half price.

If you have some patience, try winner's or marshals. The bay can have some good deals as the price on the labels usually decreases at the register. More' scan have nice jeans with a buy one get something off the second pair.
Bootlegger can also have deals.

Costco, $25. But I've never been one to give a crap what other people think of my clothes. They are comfy though, a bit stretchy which is nice. And comfort is paramount.

I used to buy nudie from Leo on 17th, but I was blowing out the crotch on $200 jeans every 6 months. I just don't see the point in such expensive jeans when they fall apart so quickly.
I agree with Levis. I like the 511 cut personally, as it's still a nice slim cut without being skinny...can't pull off skinny at 30.

I buy all my jeans at Costco. They have their own brand, but also sell Levis and Calvin Klein. I'm wearing Levis 514 from Costco right now.

Nudie Jean are notorious for crotch blowouts, never owned a pair personally but everything I've read on them says they don't last.
I do however own several pairs of Naked & Famous raw denim jeans and I love them. Once you get over the first week or two of breaking them in they stretch out to fit your body and feel like sweatpants. The first pair I bought is nearly 3 years old and just now the crotch is starting to wear through from legs rubbing each other. Probably would have lasted even longer if I had washed them more often. Regardless I'm going to get them repaired and continue wearing them till them completely fall apart.
Also as someone else previously mentioned in this thread North American Quality Purveyors in Inglewood has all sorts of raw denim to try on from several different brands. I've never bought from them but did recently use them to get a new pair of Naked and Famous jean chain-stitch hemmed and they did a great job. When I need another pair I'm definitely going to try them out.
I have a friend who back when we were poor bought a pair of $200 jeans. Sat in some gum the first day and ruined them. So went and bought another pair. Financial matters were not his strong suit.
