I don't remember the incident in particular, but just from a defensive standpoint pretty much every player has, at least one time or another, gone down and pretended to be hurt longer than the hit required.
I've never seen someone like Iginla do it and if he ever did do it I would be looking for a new favorite player.
I think you'd feel different towards Vinny, if not even a little bit, if he were on the Flames and you could see his work ethic and toughness.
After the crap he pulled in the Finals I would puke if the Flames ever happened to get him. That's one guy I do not ever want to see in a Flames uniform.

The game is very fun indeed. I like the creativity on offense, you can set up some nice plays. I've been a bigger fan of the 2k series over the past couple of years, but EA seems to have won me back somewhat. The thing that worries me is that I can leave my skater stationary in the offensive zone with the puck, and he is left virtually untouched for minutes at a time, and everyone on the ice just stands still...the defense is extremely passive..they better be more aggressive with higher difficulty and slider changes, or this game will get real boring real fast. But I'll remain optimistic for now.

It sounds like the release date has been moved up a week. Futureshop.ca is now saying it's estimated release date is September 8th.

Nice work by the design team this year as I can see alot of potential for this one. The controls are much improved. Gameplay is fun again.
Checking: You can really feel the momentum of getting your speed up to lay a good hit on guys. The cool part is that it seems to depend more on the size of the guy your hitting with and who you're tryin to hit as well.
Scoring: The target on the net during a wind up is a nice touch. And finally with the controls being made more like skating - you can actually plant yourself. It makes it a ton easier to set plays up and get passes to the point guys which = FUN. More ways to score.
Overall: It has a nice "feel" this year. Stickhandling through guys is a bit unrealistic but that'll get tweaked with the sliders. I'll be picking this one up for sure.
But come on.....giving us a choice between the Leafs or Lightning??? Could it get any worse?

Anybody else getting brutal jaggies?
Is it just the resolution? Options are all locked so who knows.
Maybe my computer is just fataed. But then again I played a game of 05 just after playing demo 06 and had no problems. Odd.

Now all we need is for someone to figure out how to edit the slider settings.

Sorry forgot to explain how to use that editor.
While running the demo, once you select your team and goes to the next screen (where you can change settings, configure controller), minimize the game. Open up the editor and make your changes and then click the use these settings button on the bottom of the editor panel and go back into your demo and click continue. Now the settings should be in use.

The Playstation demo also has Leafs vs Lightning.
hasn't the demo always been the 2 cup final teams?
Why did we get the shaft? Kind of passes me off.

We didn't. The flames and bolts were on last year's NHL. Just because there was no NHL doesn't mean there wasn't a game released.

Pardon my brain fart. I guess I forgot about that little thing called the lockout. :P

Considering there was no PC demo for 2005... I feel cheated. I was so looking forward to having The Flames as a selectable team only to see TORONTO??? It can't get any worse. Bah well, the game is fun.

It sounds like there was a demo but it wasnt released until a few months after the release date.
From the EA Hockey.com message boards:
should rephrase my earlier comment. EA released a "demo" with boxes of Kraft Dinner last year - around December/January I believe.
I had asked Tim Broomer about it after the Summit, if there was going to be a demo and he confirmed that there was going to be, but AFTER the release date - as they had to work things out with their promotions for Kraft.
EA's always intends to release a demo - usually it comes before hand, but I think in 2002 or 2003, it came after the release of the game, and 2005 was the same - they wanted the demo out in a different fashion. It didn't work out too well.

Yeah, I know about the Kraft dinner demo but that doesn't count... Hell, I was the guy who brought it up with the lead producer at the time.

Why doesnt it count? A demo is a demo whether you can download it or if you have to buy a box of KD to get it.
