Came expecting to see a post from someone getting crushed by their own cyberdyne built electronic garage door, left disappointed.

Why would you need a re-cal if it was never out of alignment?

So the spring on my door broke today, I have been thinking of getting a new door, so this seems like the time.

Any recommendations for someone to supply and install a new door, springs and whatever else I need.

When our door broke last week, I contacted Don at A1Garagedoor.ca (403-923-8186) in the late afternoon, and received extremely fast and competent service. He first tried a few things over the phone to try and prevent a service call, before coming out first thing the next morning (on a weekend). Needed to order parts, but had the door fixed by the afternoon of the following business day. Lubricated all the moving parts also.

Would buy again.

called stampede door and action (who installed the original door on my garage when house was bult) - price was almost the same - so i went with action, becasue they did not have to come out and look at it because they had the note from the original install.

went with a nice steel door, with R16 insultation and double pane windows. Hopefully the door will be ready to be installed sometime next week as it is a real pain not being able to go thru the garage to leave the house.

the new door includes new springs, nylon rollers, track and weather seal.

Do you mind sharing what the cost of the new door/installation was? I'm interested in replacing my old, dented door with something insulated (windows would be nice too!).

Thanks!
