So TSN does the broadcast of the game, and online, there's 28 seconds of highlights, where they show 2 of the 7 goals in the gold medal game that Canada wins? So for an hour of Sportscentre, 28 seconds get devoted to a Team Canada win in an annual international hockey tournament...that they broadcast no less.
Meanwhile, how many hours have they shown of the U19 tourney before a puck was actually dropped...exhibition games with no one in the stands, and the usual hour long preview show.
As ridiculous as that is, fine, its the TSN U-19 tourney money making machine (that said, they'd get better ratings by ignoring the rest of the playoff games, and rather showing the 1991 game with John Slaney, or the one where Pierre McGuire has an orgasm on air, than any of the rest of the games this tourney), but for reference, that same night's Lakers/76ers game, teams that are putrid at the bottom of their conferences halfway through the NBA season, combined 10 wins between them, has 58 seconds worth of highlights on TSN, as do all the other NBA games that night. Clearly we know who's getting the better of the ESPN "partnership".
