Zetterberg has a snipe that can't get any better and ties it. Expecting Canucks loss in overtime.

Zetterberg ties the game for the Wings with less than a minute left. 3-3 heading it to OT now.

The Canucks and Wings suck at Gaudreauovertime.

NHL schedule makers suck, Friday at 8:00pm and all the games are mostly over.

Vrbata scores his 500th shootout goal with the same backhand move.

Richards ties it though!

Zetterberg had Miller frozen with a wide open net, goes for the five hole instead and puts it right into Miller.

Blech... Vancouver wins in the shootout.

Really interesting how different teams play the 3 on 3. Despite the number of highly skilled skaters on the team, I was surprised at the low percentage type plays that the Wings tried. At least 3 occasions where the Wing player, with little speed in the offensive zone, tried to stickhandle into the heart of the 3 Vancouver players and try to get a shot off. There was at least one weak backhand flipped to the net, and a couple of long shots from the blue line. On the 3 on 3, with so much open ice, I'm surprised at the decisions.

Watching that overtime, it's easy to see why the Flames are so good. There simply wasn't much creativity to either Detroit of Vancouver's play. The Canucks were playing scared, and Detroit was trying to play it like it was 5 on 5. No real creativity in moving the puck, and they mostly failed to create the odd man situations that Calgary does.

Watching that shootout, I'm further reminded if why ties are not a bad thing. That was just a dog.

Transitioning from a turnover or loose puck in our own end to a high speed rush on the attack seems to be a big thing the Flames do well in OT when compared to other teams. Then of course creativity (or the JG factor).

The more I watch 3 on 3 between other teams, the more I see lazy plays and turn overs. Seems almost surprising how many teams aren't very good at it.

The Bruins pounded the Penguins 6-2 and sweep the home-away series. Vatrano with the hattrick and Bergeron with two goals including one shorthanded. Crosby had a kneeing penalty called against him.

The Rangers are having a difficult time away from MSG as they lose again, this time 5-2 to the Jets. They are in a stretch of playing nine games with eight of them on the road and have only one road win in their past nine road games!
