ok so like, I'm listening to a rap song right... and they use the "N" word. Now I know being a white male I'm not allowed to say that "N" word... however I'm just singing the lyrics which happen to have the "N" work in them, in sync with a black rapper... is it ok for me to say the "N" word then?

Well, you might look a bit silly singing along with rap lyrics!

I wouldn't be bothered with you singing along. However I can't speak for all the black dudes.. I suggest playing it safe

I can't really remember the whole commercial.

At the end he says: "If the ride is mo' fly, you must buy"

Which is his version of: "If you can find a better car - buy it"

My question is, why do black people generally pronounce the word "ask" like "axe"?

Did that question go too far? :P

heres a tuff one...(no racial slur intended...yeesh)

Do you call your black friends or brothers...umm...errr...n1gger?

And if so...why is it inferred as a negative if us round eyes use the same term?
LOL

Okay... In short sometimes. To us, it's different when we use it. And we both have round eyes :P

You guys had the word for long enough, let it go. [/b][/quote]
I often say to my chinese friends "those damn rice eating farmers with their ching chang chong and their stupid slanty eyes." in front of people lol. They have this really puzzled look on their faces. Yeah, when we make fun of our own race, it seems acceptable.

For some strange coincedence all my aunts and unlces married black people, (I have 4 Aunts and 2 Uncles) so I don't really need to be asking questions that I would have on the board but what the hell.

What subtle things about a person can make you tell that they are going to be biased or uncomfortable about you being black. I've never had a white friend all my friends have been brown, black and asian and they all sya different things, what are yours?

Does it make you mad when white guys "pretend" to be black?

Is it cool when I say "hommie" or can only black guys get away with that? (or is hommie an overused 90's word that isn't 'cool' at all)

this is a generalization, but I notice that some younger black (and some white) guys wear clothing that is 80 sizes too big for them and they wear their pants around their knees with their underwear showing. May I ask why? It just looks silly to me, but is there something behind it, or just a trend?

Well... Here's the long answer, assuming you are serious:

This trend began for 2 reasons.

A: In prison, you aren't allowed to have pants with pockets. If you get pants that are too big and long, you can roll up the bottems and keep items in there - like pockets. People who did a stint in the joint and then got out continued the fashion, though, probabley not the use as pockets.

B: Other people had to deal with wearing a lot of hand me downs.

Groups A & B had some cool people in them, it became a style, now Jimmy from the burbs is dressing that way, and he has no idea why.

Well... body language has a lot to do with it... other than that... I can usually just tell.

Nah, I just think it's kinda funny... Sure say Hommie all you want.. but yeah... it is a 90's word, IMO kinda lame.

Why do most young black guys seem to try to act 'gangsta' who were born and raised in Calgary? It just looks so pathetic, but not as pathetic as white kids trying to act/look 'gangsta' in Cowtown of all places of course.

Most is probabley not accurate. Many or some is probabley more appropriate.

Why do many young Asian kids pimp out their Honda's and join car clubs?

Why do white kids go Goth?

I could go on.

Adolescence is tough, some people feel the need to become a stereotype to fit in. I'm sure many people on this forum are guilty of the same.

Besides, I'm sure it gets them chicks.

It's a phase, the winners will grow out of it, the losers won't.
