Whoa, did not know that about salmon and dogs. I give my dogs scraps when I trim my filets and quarters.

Pinks and chum don't flash freeze well at all. Yes it's good fresh, they don't keep and someone in Calgary is better served by smoking chinook or coho or sockeye. I like chinooks for gravlax and hot smoked.

I was going to stop at the fish market in Crowfoot this morning but unfortunately I showed up before they opened and didn't have time to go back later in the day.

The one in crowfoot is also NorthSea. They're not bad, kind of limited selection, especially compared to Billingsgate. For the regular (tuna, salmon) they're decent.

Market Seafood is the Calgary Farmers Market off Heritage.
I'd imagine their stock changes throughout the year, but they definitely sell Sockeye, as I bought it there less than a month ago.

Yes, it's on Blackfoot & Heritage. I prefer that one to the Crossroads Farmers Market.
