I get this feeling that the US actively recruits hockey players with any American relationship.

Hockey Canada to announce it's selection camp roster tomorrow.

Hickey and McDonald are expected to be named.

Only two goalies, so McDonald is on the team.

Walman has been killing it for the Friars this season, that shot could be a huge assest for Team Canada. Tough battle for Hickey this season, hope he makes it.

Selection camp runs Dec 10 to Dec 13 and involves 2 games against "CIS All-Stars"

Assuming Canada will take 7d and 13f, Hockey Canada needs to cut 4d and 4f from the selection camp roster.

If NHLers like Fabbri and Virtanen are made available, they will need to make more cuts.

Quick glimpse at the three NHL Draft eligibles:

Quote:
Chychrun, 17, has four goals and 16 points in 25 games for the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League this season, and has previously competed at the World Under-17 Challenge. He is Canada’s highest-ranked prospect in Future Considerations’ November ranking for the 2016 NHL Draft.

Gauthier, ranked sixth, has 23 goals and 30 points in 28 games for the Val-D’or Foreurs. Like Chychrun, the 18-year-old Gauthier has competed at the World Under-17 Challenge.

Dubois has 19 goals and 43 points in 30 games with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. He’s seventh in Future Considerations’ November ranking, and won gold with Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial in August.

I don't recall them only bringing in 2 goalies to this camp. Isn't it usually 3 or 4?

Great for us though, hopefully McDonald has a great camp and grabs the starting job.

It probably shouldn't be considered a snub when Ho-Sang is a one dimensional player, whose one dimension really isn't very good.

Craig Button doesn't project Hickey to make the final roster:

I think in recent years they have only been bringing 2.

They brought only Comrie and Fucale to selection camp last year and only brought Paterson and Fucale the year before.

IIRC, the last one they brought more than 2 was the year Brossoit got cut.

I'll be watching to see McDonald on a big stage, but I'm also intrigued by Lawson Crouse and Jayce Hawryluk (both Panthers picks).

I'm kind of glad, not because I have anything against Walman or the US or whatever, but I like when the nationality rules are tightened up.

#Flames G prospect Mason McDonald: “It's crazy to think I'm going to be playing in world juniors this year instead of watching it at home."

More from #Flames pick Mason McDonald, 1 of 2 Gs invited to Canada's camp: "I'm not competing for a spot, but I'm competing for something."

You're competing to play and to not watch from the bench instead of the couch.

Yeah, think that's exactly what he was talking about. Don't know if there was any hidden message in those words.

I think we all know that it will never happen, but Fan 960 was discussing it:

Sam Bennett to the World Juniors.
