Brett Hull was a dual citizen who was allowed to play for either country. After Canada didn't choose him for the 1986 World Championships the Americans gave him a chance to play and the rest is history.
Do we really need to go all rah rah nationalism with this? Canada produces enough hockey talent to fill multiple teams, so what if a few dual citizens decide they would rather play in the USA?
