Is it true when BBQing in Winnipeg that you MUST make an additional steak for the Mosquitoes, or they drag you off to the woods for a family feast of their own?

Why is it that everytime I get mad at another driver for pulling some bonehead move on the road that vehichle has Manitoba plates on it? Are these really Manitobans, or people from Saskatchewan in disguise?
|
I know this one!
It's because there are no merge lanes in urban Manitoba so no one from there know how to do it.
But seriously, what's the deal with calling jelly doughnuts "Jambusters"? [/b][/quote]
Merge lanes are a new concept for Manitobans, but I'd like to think that the people you are honking at are mostly Saskatchewan'ians in desguise...those bas**rds!!!
As for the Jambusters, I think the real question is 'Why do YOU call Jambusters 'Jelly Donuts'?'

What do you do for fun in Manitoba.... what's there, i haven't ever been....
.....also, since everyone is starting up one of these threads "I am ____ ask me anything" threads, should I start one titled "i'm a girl, ask me anything?" or "I'm from Ottawa, ONT, ask me anything?"

Your first question was answered by Reaper:

Not to steal any Manitoba Thunder but they love their booze and snowmobiles there... (I'm married to a Manitoban)

As for your future thread, the guy here would appreciate the 'girl' thread more than the 'Ottawa' thread.

Do people in Winnipeg actually pay to see the Royal Canadian Mint?

They do, but lets not forget that us TRUE manitobans don't include Winnipeg as part of Manitoba....Place is a shinguard hole!

Does Manitoba suck as much as people make it? Also, what's the deal with permafrost?
|
Manitoba sucks just a bit less than Saskatchewan. They make us look good!
As for Permafrost, its the same in Northern Manitoba as it is in Northern Alberta.
....Winnipeg has Perma-STINK, though. Is that what you REALLY meant to ask about?

Boring isn't a word I would use to describe it. Dirty? yes. Smelly? yes. Ugly? OH-YES!!! ....But not that boring. It has MUCH more culture than Calgary too.

Not sure what you are refering too, but they are Verticle rather than Horizontal as they are here in this city.

Has Manitoba ever got this much attention before?
An entire thread seems like a big step for Manitoba.

I've mentioned Brandon a couple time before in sigle posts...those were the baby-steps. It was time for a dedicated thread.

I can answer that. It's called synchonizing the lights. Which allows you to drive down Portage ave (comperable to MacLeod Trail) for several kilomtres without stopping, rather than stopping and going again at each and every light.

OH COME ON!! That stuff is awesome!!
I didn't know a lot of Manitobans hate Winnipeg. My wife's family are all from the Peg and I've been there a few times. I'm not ashamed to admit that I quite like the city.

if you grew up outside of Winnipeg, you hate it. If Canada was to get an enema, they would stick it in at Portage and Main.

Haha! That has to be one of the funniest typos I've seen. I read your post and just stared at it for five minutes trying to figure it out. I thought you were talking about the Red Mile or something. HA! Thanks for the chuckle!
