Is Hiller on IR right now? I'm assuming so and Ferland makes the flames at the 23 man mark

where is that sort of stat published? Since Engelland and Stajan and Bennett have a 0 +/- and Frolik is -1 , intuitively that would mean that the Flames are even worse 5 on 5 than 31-14 when Engelland or Stajan or Bennett are not on the ice.

And worst on the team at 5v5 is Joe Colborne who has been on the ice for 5 GF and 14 GA. The opposition scores at a rate 6.35 G/60 while he's on the ice, which is miles worse than any regular player on the team

War-on-ice.com

Remember that doesn't include OT or 4 on 4

Edit: and no, Frolik's on off differential is biggest, though Johnny's is close

Changed it to score affect and shows Pens at CF 40.8 and Flames 39.2? I must be missing something

This is turning into a dog pile, but Raymond should not be in that spot. Ridiculous.

Ferland should have that spot over Raymond.

Fairly obvious Backlunds slow start was due to being saddled with Raymond on his line. Raymonds stick is where plays go to die.

Not sure why Raymond is still with the Flames. Send him down and bring up Granlund FFS.

I don't think anyone here seriously thinks you are suggesting a disgruntled transit or Uber driver should actually drive over a hockey player you wish was not on the team...it's just a completely stupid thing to say because it is something that actually happens to real people in real life.

Pick different things to say or don't...that's your call...but you can hardly be surprised if people here are strongly opinionated against such things.

I want to like Raymond, I really do. And every time he's in the lineup I'm thinking "okay now he goes back to his 2009/10 version of himself, and has a career revival and helps the team win." Then he falls down after minimal contact, then he has a horrible giveaway in the O-zone, then he loses his man in the D-zone, etc. Raymond is only effective when he's scoring and that, unfortunately, doesn't happen anymore. He should be in the AHL or permanent press box until and injury replacement is needed, and even then, some of the prospects deserve a chance to be injury filler ahead of him.

This. I doubt Granlund would be any worse, and I think he would actually add something that we need more of...an excellent NHL shot.

Raymond has got to be on his last legs in the organization, but they're really trying to give him a chance before cutting bait with him. I think that's only fair since they signed him to that contract, but at some point Treliving has to realize that he's not helping, and possibly hindering, the team.

Honestly, it would be ideal for him to start scoring and give the team the 10-15 goals minimum that they signed him for, but I don't see any signs of improvement from him. I know it's hard to get any momentum on the 4th line, but it's not good when guys like Derek Grant are passing you on the depth chart in the same limited minutes.

I wish Ferland and Bouma would learn to temper their "balls to the wall" hockey a little bit. The way they have been playing, I'm afraid they will both spend a lot of time nursing injuries...especially when we need them most.

Unfortunately if they don't play like that they aren't nearly as effective, but it's nothing that countless players of their ilk haven't had to manage since the beginning of hockey. For players like that, it's the way they have to play in order to carve out a career in the NHL.

I agree with everything you say here. I think that Raymond is a placeholder really (for Frolik). Ferly will work his way back up but he just got injured and should probably be eased back in. See how he does in his first game back and we'll see. But the way that second line has been playing the last two games who wants to shuffle that? Not me.

So have we completely ruled out the bus/Raymond thing?

Anyone who didn't see the humour in Locke's suggestion should back away from the Internet. Just for a bit.
