All I'm asking for is for the Ramo to not give up a soft goal. I'm not even asking for a win. Just that the goals given up are ones off of great plays and shots. Make Oilers earn their goals.
Listening to Fan960 was sickening... the two guys raving about the Oilers "playing hockey the way it should be played" and how "there's a game breaker on every line"....
and then the absolute gall to talk about Calgary and how they were just lucky last year and now their luck has run out?!
How about getting FOUR number 1 picks in 6 years?! How lucky is that?
That has happened once in the 1950s in the NBA when the league had 12 teams...
I am never going to watch an Lottery Kings game while their fans parade around like proud peacocks for sucking so badly they got 6 shots at the Number 1 pick...
and then having the idiocy of the NHL having a system where they could actually win 4 out of 6...
8-1 Oilers, I didn't see anything in the Flames defense and goaltending that screams they're on the verge of turning it around.
The Oilers after years of humiliation are going to see this as a statement game, and I'm not seeing enough pushback from any Flames players not named Johnny or Jiri.
If this team looked like it was on the verge I'd be more optimistic. But last night was embarrassing and the first time in a long time when I flipped off a game mid stream

The weird thing about this game is that the Oilers seems to be the team with the expectations to win. It's been a few years since the last time that happened haven't it? It's gonna be interesting to see how they handle not playing out of the underdog position for once.
At this point I really wouldn't care too much if the Flames lose this game, long as there is some level of effort going on and we don't drop five goals against, but imagine the meltdown the Oiler fans will suffer if the terrible Flames in the middle of a epic collapse manage to put it together for a win against their glorious team of superstars. That's what I wish for tonight.
Battle of Alberta and I don't even care to watch tonight.
I've been a die hard fan since 1990 but this is the first season that I truly don't want to watch this team. This is probably the worst Calgary Flames team in history.
The Oilers are 4-7. I don't think they ever play with too much of an expectation to win. Especially against a team that's beaten them so badly for so long.

Not even close.

The oil seem to be capturing some of that magic Calgary had last year. My prediction is, the Flames end up with two tonight. no, not two points, two jerseys on the ice.
I'm really hoping for a win but i'm not at all confident in this team.

Man, the Oilers' first two lines are ridiculous. Six players, every single one of them drafted no lower than 4th overall. The average draft position of their top two forward lines: 1.8 (mean); 1 (median); 1 mode.
I doubt that's ever happened before in the NHL.
I expect a loss tonight, but also expect the Flames to finally show some pride with a spirited effort. I'm going to say 4-3 Oilers, McDavid with a 3 point night matched by 3 points by JG. An entertaining but disappointing game.
Gonna go out on a limb here. Flames, embarrassed by last night beat the Oilers 3-2 tonight.
No real reason as a basis for this, and the team certainly hasn't provided one. Just a hunch. We get real goaltending from Ramo, and the D sucks it up big time.
McDavid is a -2 on the night.
