Gaudreau sits 26 points away from the 100 point plateau. What game does he grab it in??!!

December 20th in Detroit recording it against the same team Mony did

The issue in Carolina is the Staal era is not over, they just seem to be spinning wheels. It's not really Lindholms fault but I'd obviously take Mony over him.

Mony's looked great so far but this might be similar to 2003 draft. Where year to year different players look the best of their class. Staal did one point, Phaneuf as well, last few years it looks like Getzlaf. Weber obviously could go down as one of the best ever.

I'm glad we have Monahan but I wouldn't be mad if we had Mackinnon or Barkov or Drouin or Jones or Nichuskin or Ristolainen or Domi or Horvat etc.
Mackinnon, Jones, Drouin or Monahan for me. Maybe Barkov.

I think 5 years down the road, the Monahan pick will be much better than the Mackinnon pick. And as others have mentioned, I think Mony will get to 200 points quicker than Mackinnon

Eh, I disagree with that. MacKinnon has crazy upside. But it's nice that our 6th overall is in the same conversation

If Monahan didn't play on such a crappy Ottawa team in his last year of junior maybe he would've had much better numbers and gone higher in the draft.

Very true. It was interesting at the time how overlooked he was. There was always plenty of discussion of mackinnon, drouin, Jones, Barkov, nichuskin, and even Nurse. Seemed like Monahan was often overlooked at least in terms of hype. Great that he has earned every bit of hype he has now.

Let's add Bennett/Pull-Upgate to our list of good fortunes .. Almost as if some form of sports deities were smiling down favourably upon a group that deserved it
