@AAVickers: No Micheal Ferland, but there is a TJ Brodie at morning skate here in NYC! Limited participation, though. #Flames

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
As expected, #Flames D TJ Brodie (hand) is skating in NYC. Not shooting much, though. Don't expect to see him for a few more games.

I have to stop speed reading. I read the thread title as "Brodie close to retiring"

The risk is Brodie feels the pressure to return too early, given how poorly the team is playing. The last thing we want is he re-injures the hand by trying to come back too soon.

That is my big concern as well. Hope the team is able to keep him to the side lines until there is no longer any concern for reinjury.

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames D TJ Brodie has been doing a lot of work with Mark Giordano this morning. If he's not playing tonight, he's really close.

I think having Brodie back is going to make a huge difference in the look of the defence, in Gio's play, and therefore to the team overall.

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
It's looking more and more like #Flames D TJ Brodie will be a go against Senators.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames projected pairings vs. #Senators:
Giordano-Brodie
Russell-Wideman
Engelland-Hamilton

Goaltenders:
Hiller (Starter)
Ortio

Tempering my expectations, but I am very glad he's coming back.

One of the most important things in getting Brodie back is not just his stellar play but giving Dougie a perfect example of how to play in our system. Hopefully things start to click for all 6 dmen.

Not to be a wet blanket but I hope they aren't rushing him back because we are desperate for a shot in the arm.

Brodie needs to be 100% or he is going to be tentative.

Regardless though, I think it will still take a couple games for Gio and Brodie to get back to the best pairing in the NHL. That said, I have no doubt that they can.

Have there been any recent examples of this organization rushing people back?
I don't remember any, so why post this speculation?
The protocol is quite simple, until the player has the clearance from the doctor to play, they don't play.

Because it's a legitimate concern, especially given our circumstances. Doctors clear guys to play at 80-90% all the time. This isn't a head injury we are talking about.

Good troll though.
