In addition to the views above, I thought Stajan had a good game last night. He's smart, he's taking the body, and he's got good playmaking ability - set up Bollig beautifully all alone in the slot (who missed by 2 feet).

Really a perfect 4th line C, who can play anywhere you need him to. I would have moved him up in the lineup last night and stapled Backlund to the bench.

EDIT: That last part was a bit negative! Strike it from the records!

Absolutely, I intended Stajan to make the list and somehow forgot him. He has been consistent , Hard working and making intelligent plays. Has taken his role on the team and ran, excellent to see.

So far the opponents we played:

Vancouver x 2
Winnipeg
St. Louis
Edmonton
Washington

So far against these opponents we are:

1-1-0
0-1-0
0-1-0
0-1-0
0-1-0

That looks bad sure, but last season against these opponents we went:

2-1-1
2-1-0
0-3-0
5-0-0
1-1-0

For a total record of
10-6-1

So far we have:

2 Games Left vs St. Louis
1 Game Left vs Washington
4 Games Left vs Edmonton
3 Games Left vs Vancouver
2 Games Left vs Winnipeg

It might sound crazy but:

- We invitably could get swept by St. Louis

- We could win the "revenge" game in Washington, like we did last year.

- We could absolutely sweep the remaining season series with Van, Winnipeg and Edmonton with Brodie Healthy. Last season we won both games against the Jets with Brodie, and really, the the Jets were beatable last game if Ramo doesn't have that uncharacteristic late game meltdown. We're already a point ahead of schedule against the Canucks as we were 0-1-1 in the first two against them a season ago. That would allow the Flames to finish the season with a record against those five teams of 11-7-0.

Which would be a whopping one less point than last season. Now imagine if we steal a loser point against those evil Blues.

11-6-1 > 10-6-1

There, that's my contribution to the bighter Side.
