That was impressive. It's kind of funny how the smallest guy on the team is by far our best player. He makes Giordano, Monahan and Hamilton all seem average at best while he creates offense nearly every shift and is one of the most defensively reliable forwards.
Hopefully Johhny can transfer some of his abilities to the rest of the team because wow, on a nightly basis he does something highlight worthy. Not a single night off for this kid, the rest of the team needs to start paying attention to his training and discipline because clearly he has it figured out. It's like one Einstein in the class and a bunch of B students.

I loved how this play occurred just a few minutes after Rick Ball mentioned that Hitchcock felt Gaudreau was most dangerous when the opposing team had the puck. Perfect timing.

Johnny just has to learn to take more of those to the net himself, as he did in the 3 on 3 OT goal, rather than pass them off so much.

No kidding, it was almost prophetic.

And comments like that are what put Rick Ball at a level above Paul Romanuk as a PBP guy.

Thank you so much. That to me is nicer than any goal scored this year. Just beautiful hockey.

Last year it seemed obvious to me that Johnny's unusually gifted abilities and drive were making many players on the team better. I also recall seeing an interview with Gretzky who said he thought his play was influencing the team.

Ball also mention at the same time that Hitchcock compared him to Datsyuk.
