I hate losing to the Cancks.
Pretty tough to say considering one guy had next to no chances against

Canucks' defence was vastly better than the Flames' tonight. Ramo was average - a bad goaltending performance and this was a 7-1 game.

Flames are going to need some more force up front too. They're constantly working the quick passes and drops, but need more power going straight at the net. Maybe Winnipeg will trade us Byfuglien...

Ugly game, but they'll get it on track, and I guess we'll see what Hiller's up to next game.

Bad night for Hamilton, hopefully he finds a gear in the flames system

They'll figure it out. This team really misses Brodie, and I can't see a reality where Deryk Engelland is playing regular minutes for this team. Brodie-Kulak or Hamilton-Kulak is simply better.

Terrible game to watch good thing I only got to see the third period, but the good news is I saved money on my home owners insurance.

The Canucks did a good job of countering our transistion game. Forced lots of turnovers and odd man rushes.

It will be a long season if the Flames think they can catch other teams off guard. The Nucks were full marks for the victory tonight.

Well the Flames were taking it to them up until that Bollig grapple.
I'm not sure what additional momentum he was trying to gain there but it ruined what Ferland accomplished.

From there everything unravelled and frankly the team looks hungover.

A few thoughts...

Ramo looked terrible, funny to hear Pang say the book is out on his glove hand. That's comedy gold.
Hiller looked extremely annoyed/disinterested every time the camera panned to him.
Kudos to the mess of a goalie situation that's already started!

Other than that, I mean we gotta do some line juggling here I think.
Bennett needs to be thrown into a more prominent scoring role...
Frolik should be matched with Hudler...
Bouma needs more ice time, he was quietly very good.
Ferland should get more and more opportunity every game.
Gaudreau needs to move his feet out there he wasn't skating tonight.
What does Bollig bring here?

Tough night for the D, I thought Gio looked rusty which is completely understandable.
Hamilton didn't make the best of decisions either.
Missing Brodie sure, but the rest can hopefully improve and pick up the slack.

I know Hamilton will be better, but wow, rough first game as a Flame.
Frolik looked good.
Ramo will get at least two games off, I would think.
Russell and Wideman need to be a lot better, too.
Moving on.

Least of our worries as Flames fans.

Romanuk and Johnston? That's a national broadcast.

Like what I saw from the young guys on the Canucks. Don't expect them to play like that all the time obviously. Flames most likely come back and win on Saturday

Me too. I don't really puck a lot of stock in advanced stats, but I assume they were brutal for Calgary tonight.

Doubt we see many changes aside from Hiller in next game but I would like to see Bennett on the wing. And I'm calling it now. Raymond draws in.

I'll show myself out.

You don't need advanced stats to know the Flames were dominated tonight.

Let's get the bad game out of the way early. Sometimes games like this just happen. They just weren't in sync and you know they're not going to play like this for many games. They certainly didn't have too many like this last season.

Wills and Loubardias said Ramo was the best flame tonight. They also though Ferland was quietly good.

Other thoughts from those who watched?

Well getting embarrassed in your home opener by what might be one of the worst teams in the league is hopefully a nice wake up call if these guys were starting to believe their own hype of being at least a better than average team
