I like walking down young street, always something happening at dundas square on the weekends. The hockey hall of fame of course. St. Lawrence market is good. Toronto island is a great place if its warm.

Go to the rooftop at Gretzkys and enjoy the scenery. If your wife is there, wear sunglasses.

Like others have mentioned. Ripleys Aquarium is great. Royal Ontario Museum is great as well. The Zoo in Toronto is awesome, and go check out the Ontario Science Center, it blows away anything in Calgary. Niagara Falls is good day trip. You should go to a Drive-In movie, the 5 Drive-In in Oakville or the Stardust Drive-In near Newmarket will fit the bill. The Scarborough Bluffs are also a nice place to visit. The CN Tower is not a bad place to go for dinner.

Definitely take the time to wander the Distillery District - Mill St. is there, but your wife might really enjoy all the artisan shops. It is all cobblestone and has some cool public art as well.

+1 for the Aquarium, it really is unique and fascinating.

Go to St. Lawrence Market too or head over to Leslieville - really cool neighborhood.

I second heading to the distillery district, pretty cool area.

Queen street and ossington has some good restaurants and danforth for greek food.

Check out St. Lawrence Market and Kinsington Market.

Yorkville is a cool place to sit and watch people drive by with their expensive cars.

Dundas Square usually has a lot going on

If you want to watch sports, head to Real Sports Bar by the ACC. Basically Shanks on steroids.

The aquarium is incredible and right by Rogers Centre. My only suggestion is don't go on a Friday or a weekend. The lineups are insane. You can also get discounted tickets online.

There are some wonderful galleries at the AGO and some great art places along that whole block of Dundas.
There is a lot to explore around UofT, Queens Park is a nice place to unwind, Casa Loma is fun to see.
I find ROM to be somewhat disappointing.

Go here - this place was amazing and quite reasonable when I was there in July.

The octopus is stellar.

You'd be remiss to not look at concert listings for when you are there. Toronto is the place to live if you like a lot of music.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm liking the idea of the St. Lawrence Market as we have a condo and I do enjoy cooking.

I've found out that Shinai is there while we are...so i've got tickets there and second city as well as we really enjoy improv.

Just another question, how easy is it to get around to some of the places (zoo, wonderland) as I won't have a car and they seem to be a fair distance away?

Based on those clips that troutman shared, Canada was CLEARLY better in the 1980s.

Toronto has an overwhelming amount of fantastic food choices. Pick a country and find their neighborhood.

If you do go to burgers priest, my once per year burger from there is the Vaticanized Pope. Just eat nothing but salad the next day.

There is a good french restaurant near second city that you could take the wife to - Le Select.

If you have a group here, I would try an escape room near downsview station called escape games Canada. There are probably over 40 escape room companies in the city, and the one at downsview has been the best that I have tried so far.

Definitely go to the distillery district at night for dinner! I like Cluny, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Also, Toronto always has something going on somewhere. TIFF is going on now, but check to see if any festivals are happening while you are here. http://m.toronto.com/things-to-do/

Both are fairy easy to get to with transit, just one transfer away.
For the zoo you would need to take the GO Train for most of the trip, from Union Station.
Wonderland is easily accessible with the TTC: subway then direct bus.

I know it's already been said, but I want to emphasize how cool the Distillery District is. Good place for your wife too!
