I love this idea. If I remember correctly, some premier League teams have done this. Real Madrid too I think.

A Personal Seat Licence or stadium builders licences the way to go, although it sucks for the long time season ticket holders to be forced to pony up for a licence once the stadium is built. This is what the 49ers did for their new stadium and a number of other pro sports stadiums. Interestingly, only two NHL teams have PSL, the Leafs and the Blue Jackets.

Sounds like a good test for a boring pre-season game.

Doubt it, its basically eaten the moment it reaches my hand, needs to be done in one shot.

I'd buy tickets to a lottery or something where the profits go towards the building, but I don't think I'd ever buy/want to buy shares in the team.
Community ownership/having share holders is a nightmare. A current, albeit smaller scale example are the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Awful situation with that team.

Yeah, I would go for the tile/brick or whatever before considering shares. I keep missing out on those and regret not participating in those kinds of fundraising events in the past.

The Mets did that at Citi Field. You could get a 4" x 8" brick for $200 or a 8" x 8" for $400. They sold 18,000 of them.

18,000 at $400 is still only $7M
And that is a rounding error on this project

Lets pretend that we did the same and miraculously sold 18k, half being 200$ ones and half being the 400$ ones.
5 400 000$.
Great, just another 884.6million and were set!

Yup, selling bricks is more a fun thing to do for your fans than a real money raiser (I believe the Mets donated all profits from the sales to charity).
To make real money, you'd either have to sell a hell of a lot more, or raise the price considerably (but, the higher the price, the fewer you're likely to sell).

Nope. Just pay my ticket tax....happily. I am a long time game pack holder.
I am an out of towner, my donation money has and will go to local projects like our rinks and new pool area.
