Another great one that I unfortunately don't have any internet footage of (it was some low-budget Alberta show that had a bunch of interviews of actors discussing their time filming in Alberta), was Jake Gyllenhaal taking about how incredible the Flames playoff run was and how him and Heath Ledger were full on fans, cheering on the Red Mile lots of nights.
Obviously they were filming Brokeback Mountain during the '04 playoff run, and Jake was just gushing about how he couldn't believe that a city could be so swept up in a sporting event that two Hollywood celebrities could walk into a pub (ship and anchor I think he mentioned specifically IIRC) and basically just chill at a table in the middle of the bar like relatively normal people because they were second fiddle to the games.
It was a pretty cool story to hear, especially considering that back in 2004 him and Heath were definitely A list celebrities, the type that would get hounded almost anywhere they went, so they saw it as extra special that they could cheer along in an incredible atmosphere AND not have to do they duck and dodge/separate from the public celebrity thing.
"During the filming of the Fourth of July scenes in Fort Macleod, the crew would get the extras pumped up by telling them to act like the Calgary Flames had just won the Stanley Cup."

There's a weird reality show in the UK called Gogglebox, which is basically watching people around the country watch tv. Anyway during the playoffs this year one of the guys on it was wearing a Flames shirt. Which I thought was notable, being that we are in the UK and all.
Not huge deal but at Universal this summer, my son wearing a Flames hat had his picture taken with Wolverine and the actor said "Nice hat, what team is that? "
LOL at everyone who thinks Liberian Flames fan is photoshopped. That photo has been around for so long. I doubt someone in 2001 was like "hey I'm going to photoshop a Flames jersey onto an unrestful youngster in Liberia, hopefully I can find one with a guy's hand in the way to make it more challenging".

Looks photo shopped to me. If you zoom in the jersey is more pixalated than the rest of the photo... No idea if that means anything though.
The photo was taken in the early 2000s when digital cameras weren't as high-resolution. It's from one of the news services (Reuters or AP, can't remember).
Also jpeg format is lossy. A copy of a copy loses quality.
