Take a look at the Honda HRV. It's smaller than the CRV, but amazingly big on the inside.

Mitsubishi is also a good option. Very good warranty. I picked up a used 2009 Outlander last week and loving it so far. I've had great service and treatment at Platinum Mitsubishi off Barlow.

I've had an '08 Sante Fe since it was new and be very happy with it. Haven't really looked at the new ones.
