Pfff, like Jagr would be a 4th liner in 2045.

Sorry officer. Thanks for making your rounds.

I'd be pretty disappointed if the Flames made no trades or signings in the next 4 years. Was an observation and a fair one at that. Wasn't intended to be offensive but you seem to be offended pretty easily.

I'm interested to see Janko with offensive linemates, favorable zone starts and PP time. For all we know he could turn out to be an effective scorer. Too early to tell where he will fit into the lineup.

In 2045 Jagr would likely be a 2nd line right wing. Probably playing for a franchise on the moon because Bettman thought it was a good idea to put an expansion team there.

I still believe in Drew Shore, I think he'll end up in a top 6... ahead of Frholik. Despite signing a 5 year contract, I don't think he stays here till the end. Colbourne and Shore will play up the roster based upon size.

Colbourne - speaking of which, hard to guess where he lands. Some days he looks like he could be a catalyst, then there is the other 99% of the time. But big players take a while to develop.

Jankowski - again, hard to tell because we haven't even seen him in a pro camp yet. I think its hard to argue about him ahead of the depth chart over Granlund, when we've already seen that Granlund can be a smart, effective 2-way player in the NHL.

One interesting line that I could see for the next decade, is Klimchuk-Bennett-Poirer..... the line that will go to head to head with McJesus for years to come.
I still think Shore is a very capable NHL player, but I don't know if he fits this franchise. Maybe we'll see something different in camp this year and he'll force his way into a 2nd line RW position. I think we haven't seen the best Shore has to offer yet.

Colborne is a guy that is a little inconsistent, but this year he really had a tough time playing through injuries. He has so much potential and loves playing for the Flames that I'm really willing to give him a chance long term. If he uses his body the way he did in the playoffs he can stay as long as he likes.

Jankowski has the edge over Granlund for 2 reasons: size and face-off prowess. If Granlund were ever to massively improve on his face-offs I would reconsider his position in the organization, but I don't see him as a winger because the left side is so crowded with good players.

I had some version of this in my head earlier too. I think we will need a big free agent signing to replace Hudler at some point, possibly someone with more size.

Just curious, why McDonald over Gillies? From reading your camp reports I figured it was like splitting hairs between the two in your eyes. Does McDonald have an "it" factor that makes him the starter?

More of a hunch than anything. Mac is a bit better moving laterally and I think that might be the difference. I think both will be quality goaltenders, just have no clue on which will be the better one. Plus you have Ortio there as a wild card, he may end up being the best of the bunch. Who knows. I don't remember a time when the Flames had 3 goalies that you could see as potential #1's without being ridiculous.

So...we've traded Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, Brodie, Hamilton, Poirier etc. etc. etc. ?

I think this list needs some explanation.

Okposo is great, but he's just hitting the prime of his career and free agency will be very kind to him. Even if the Flames have a great situation going on and Treliving works his wizardry, he'll be getting ridiculous offers from other teams.
