CP is a powerful tool. I think the Flames would be smart to jump on board with freebies and just general support in order to market their brand. CP could evolve into something of a euro style supporter group where the Flames brass start consulting CP on major fan decisions.
On their own official forum, they were giving away a free jersey to try and get people to join. They have like 10 regular posters.

I also agree that "Operation Flames Car Flags" was pretty awesome -- thanks to whoever organized that. I foresee version 2.0 might need to happen before next year's playoffs
Only catch is that there would have to be enough to distribute to everyone. Alternatively, we could try to do some sort of "pen pal" thing? (now we're going really old school...)

Maybe make some non-local users write essays about why they deserve certain unique objects over other non-local users? (Must be written by hand and scanned/image uploaded ) If that can't be decided, then do an auction with proceeds going towards the cost of purchasing more items to be distributed to others?
Perhaps consider a two way sending deal? Non-local users send random local sports swag and locals fight to the death for their shot at getting those swag items?

When the season starts up you can always grab a few extra line up sheets from the games. They are free and unfold into a poster of a Flames player (if they continue to do what they did in the playoffs). Could even pour a little heroin beer on it to make it smell like the dome.

Just an extra thought, as I work in travel, selling Canadian holidays, I get over to Calgary now and again, I could always meet up with someone from CP and bring stuff back and post it on when I get back to the UK, would be cheaper than sending from Canada.

I'd definitely be interested in this. I've started a Flames collection and right now its mostly posters, a few pucks, sweaters, and old season yearbooks, but I'm always looking for more Flames stuff that isn't too expensive to add to it.

Like HD my wife won't like it, but I'd be up for it. Depending on what it is, I don't really need a pocket schedule but I have a nice little collection going for the day I get to build my basement bar.

I'd love to be in on this!
I moved to SW Ontario from Fort Mac after highschool 10 years ago and have always had to deal with stores having leafs and habs junk and never seeing anything Flames!
Currently living in Waterloo! I feel bad getting in on this when we have so many fans from literally across the globe!
