Good move for the Stars. If they make trade for a Seguin/Spezza equivalent defenseman.... Look out! Nill and Yzerman are really starting to show that they had a stable of future star GMs in Detroit. I'm actually far more impressed by what they've done since leaving Detroit than with what Holland has done in the same time.

You expressed that opinion in very strong language, so I was wondering if you had some well-thought-through reason for it. Apparently not, so I'll happily do as you suggest.

Come on man, you said it with such conviction and he was just asking what your reasoning was.

Ok, well, around here we've found that when people provide evidence as to why their opinion is what it is, useful and interesting discussion can result.
If it's just a hunch, say so. Nothing wrong with that. But snarky responses like this are unnecessary.

That's a bargain for Oduya. Rumor was he was offered 3x5 by the Sabres.

With players like Seguin, Spezza, Sharp, Hemsky, Moen, Niemi and now Oduya, does anyone else feel like Dallas is almost a video game roster? Like who would have believed you if you told someone in early 2013 that the Stars would have all of these 'notable' players on their team?

You're right, and I apologize. Sorry Corsi, if you read this.
Just my opinion, a hunch and my lack of faith in both those goaltenders.
That being said I didn't realize I expressed my opinion with such conviction. I was just reiterating my opinion.
Again, sorry.

I agree. Except for Moen. Is he even worth mentioning anymore?

Show Stanley-Cup-clinching-goal-scorer Travis Moen some respect!

decent deal. term and dollars are great for dallas.
like what dallas has done thus far. I've pencilled them in my predictions as 1 of the 8 teams entering the dance this year come spring.

That is shrewd by Dallas.
Move Daley to Chicago for Sharp. Getting Daley means that Chicago is no longer looking to re-sign Odyua.
Then sign Odyua to a reasonable contract once the doors close for him in Chicago.
If the get decent goaltending they could be good next year, have a great top 7 forwards, and while their defense isn't the greatest they have some decent puck movers.
Top 7 forwards is pretty strong:
Benn
Seguin
Nichuskin
Sharp
Spezza
Eakin
Hemsky

Is it wrong of me to think that I'm just happy that he didn't go to Edmonton?

I believe in the Jays.
|
Heh, I consider Daley and Oduya pretty equivalent talents. So Dallas basically got Sharpe and Johns for Garbutt... well played Dallas, well played.

Dallas has been in the top half of the league in GF and the bottom half in GA/SA for the past 5 years, while Lehtonen has posted great numbers with the exception of last year. It's their D that suck, he's a good goalie (though a bit injury prone).

Good for Dallas. Improved their defense at a reasonable price.

That's a pretty big slap to the face to Buffalo. Dallas is a much better team but it's not like they are Stanley cup contenders.
