We have created a Facebook group called "Axe Music Tech Tank" just in case any of you want to stay in touch with me that way. I specialize in MIDI/recording, keyboards, live sound and lights, and can usually help with most general inquiries. I do need assistance with the questions specifically about guitar setups, but luckily there are lots of people here for me to ask.

Hey everyone! I'm getting the new model Yamaha digital pianos in soon, so last year's models have to go.

Yamaha P-105 Digital Piano - $549.95, normally $700. Save $150!

I still see this on Amazon.ca for $680+shipping. I think I found it on an American website for $499 + shipping. Either way, this is one hell of a deal for anyone looking for an instrument as a gigging professional or student alike. The weighted action is excellent.

PM me for details, or just come to the keyboard room and look for the skinny white guy with the pony-tail.

From my memories of Axe music that description is not going to help find you, nor distinguish you from most of the customers...

Hey everyone! I just got word from Yamaha (the distributor for Steinberg in Canada) that anyone who purchased a copy of Cubase Elements 7 after January 15th 2015 is entitled to a FREE UPGRADE to Cubase 8!

Project time Trad. I've been searching for this guitar for years after selling it. Biggest regret of my life. L&M hasn't been able to track one down to order in, but maybe you'll come across one.

I think their may be a Gibson version, but I'm just looking for the Epiphone version.

Do you guys have any father/son guitar lessons? I would love to go with my 6 year old, or is that too young?

Unfortunately, Epiphone is a subdivision of Gibson, which is owned by Yorkville, which is owned by Long & McQuade, so I'm SOL on this through official channels. If anything comes up I will be sure to PM you.

I certainly don't think it is too young, but best to call the store and speak with the teacher directly. They're all awesome people.

One thing about Axe that is really cool is that the store does not charge the teacher's a fee to use the teaching space. Its a courtesy to the customers to keep lesson prices down. The going rate for a 30min lesson is $13 per person.

CRAZY GOOD DEAL!

I promised myself I wouldn't pollute CP with too much advertising for Axe music, but this is just too good to be true.

Normally priced at $1,749.99, this brand new guitar can be had right now for $898.33(!!!) because of dutch auction. It also includes a really nifty Ibanez case.

Ibanez JS24PCA Joe Satriani Signature Electric Guitar with Basswood Body includes Edge Tremolo and Dimarzio Pickups - Candy Apple Red Finish

Joe Satriani is one of the most highly regarded guitarists in the world today, known for his superior technique and blazing tone. It can be no surprise that he has been a long time Ibanez endorser, and has chosen Ibanez to build his signature series guitars.

This Premium Series instrument is made with quality tone woods and high end components, including the same pick-ups Joe uses in his own guitars!

Features:

- High-pass Filter

- A high pass filter on volume pot maintains highs at low volumes and a push/pull coil tap adds sound and tonal variations for both pickups.

- 24 Frets

- JS Premium Neck

- DiMarzioŽ Pickups
- The JS24P features the DiMarzioŽ Mo' Joe in the bridge position, and The Chopper in the neck position.

Specifications:

Neck Type - JS 3pc Maple/Bubinga neck w/KTS TITANIUM rods
Body - American Basswood body
Fretboard - Rosewood fretboard w/Abalone dot inlay
Fret - Medium frets w/Premium fret edge treatment
Bridge - Edge bridge

Seeing as 1992 was 23 years ago I am sure it is safe to play Stairway To Heaven. I rock "Jump" in the keyboard room frequently.

I've always done my own work on my my guitars, setup, intonation, etc. so I'm out of touch with the local shops and luthiers.

Who would you recommend to make a small repair to the paint & finish of a Gibson Les Paul? It's a goldtop so much more tricky than solid finishes. What's the word with the guitar guys there at Axe?

I've been doing some searching and asking around but have not found out who is the "go to" guy for finish repairs and lacquer in the city.

Can you post and/or PM some pictures of the work you need done?

Will do so tonight, absolutely.

Do not expect perfection but just need to find someone who is good with lacquer and understands how tricky the GoldTop finish can be to match.
