From everything I hve heard/read, he's going to be re-signed by PHI. They like him a bunch. And looking at last season, he's a great fit there.

In Treliving we trust. Where he goes, I will follow.

Not a big fan of Franson. I don't think he'd replace Wideman's offensive prowess and he's a bit of a turn-over machine in his own end.

It's a longshot, but I wonder what the chances are we could trade for Karl Alzner.

Gio
Brodie
Hamilton
Russell
Wideman
Alzner

Now that would be formidable.

Not keen on Franson personally. Would rather see them go after Oduya if they want another D

Hamilton and Brodie have a serious chance at being one of, if not the best D pairings in the league for the next 10 years.

...and Gio is no slouch, he can anchor a #1B pairing with just about anyone IMO.

I don't think Brodie plays his off side out of necessity, I think he mentioned he prefers it. I love the Hamilton acquisition but Gio-Brodie was arguably the best duo I the league last year. Keen 'em together.

I really don't see the point in bringing in another Dman. Even when Wideman is ready to leave, hopefully one of the Flames own prospects will be ready to step in.

I think Franson would be a nice addition. He's bigger, physical and can put up some points.

Then you may not have noticed Wotherspoon playing in the top 4.

In a weird way, I thought it was a legit try out for Wotherspoon for a preseason game or something.

I suspect Treliving will wait until the crickets start before he looks at a player like Franson. Some GM will most likely offer stupid dollars (hopefully the Nucks) and terms.

He is a slow skating defenseman though. For a fast team like the Flames I don't think Franson can keep up. The guy was a healthy scratch at times with Nashville. I would rather have Engelland playing #6 than overpay Franson. I hope Flames won't even try going after him.

pass on Franson... he would have been a potential target (with Sekara) for us, but once we signed Hamilton, I don't really see a need for him.

he isn't overly physical, he's slow footed and he couldn't even crack nashville's lineup when the big games came up...

Has Wotherspoon done anything to rate 2 pair minutes?

Russell was a solid D for us last year, and I can't see bumping him for an unproven Wotherspoon.

Button saying Franson is "buyer beware". Poor skater.
