I doubt it. I'm sure the Sabres already tried to trade Hodgson to every team in the league.

Someone may pick him up. This will only cost the team that picks him up a try out contract.

I can see a team signing him on the cheap. Maybe his only choice to sign a one year deal in hopes he can parlay it into a solid season and better contract next year.

What about takin a flier on Stalberg? Big winger and from what I remember from watching him, he can skate pretty good.

Rather promote from within. We have a lot of young talent in the system... like Micheal Ferland, who need roster spots.

I would rather use a LW from within on the RW rather than picking up a teams discarded scraps.

It would at least send the message from the brass saying they believe in those guys and also is a chance for someone to run with it.

Who knows.

And he's super soft to boot.

There is absolutely no reason for the Flames to pursue him

Phoenix or NJD would be good destinations needing skilled players with a chance at reviving their careers.

Hodgson sure had a great junior career and actually was pretty decent in Vancouver.

Can't the sabres just terminate his contract now?

I'm sure there will be some interest out there for him. Wouldn't mind if we took a chance if it made sense.

Another poor skater. These guys just can't compete in the faster NHL

I'd be okay with a 1 yr contract for hodgson and shipping out Raymond. A fast player who sucks for a slow player with skill. Sure.

No thanks. Last year the Flames brought in a guy like Seto to boost internal competition.

This year we already have roughly 16 forwards who are going to do that so IMO we don't need to waste a contract spot on bought out reclamation fodder.

Was hoping it was Sportsnet buying out/firing Jim Hughson instead of Buffalo letting Hodgson go....damn...
