This is really as good as it gets.
Add one of the best young RH defensemen in the NHL. Potential franchise player and huge organizational need.
Add a player who was supposed to be a top 10 pick only 365 days ago. By the way he had 1 less point than Erikkson Ek as a Dman, and in 16 less games.
Grab another high upside offensive defenseman in Andersson.
A 6'3 skilled C who is just starting to develop.

8/10, mostly because Hamilton.
Thought we missed by picking Andersson over Bracco.
Kylington was a nice pickup. Boom or Bust, at least they're going for it.
The 5th rounder could be a good third liner. I like the pick.
The sixth rounder has potential, but I wish he were a RW. Still like the pick though.
The seventh rounder looks like he'll probably bust. Sounds like his upside is Deryk Engelland
Wish we had traded some useless vets like Bollig or Raymond for some late rounders.

Odd evaluation IMO. The seventh round can't really bust as none of them protect to be nhlers. Bracco isn't that exciting exciting to me, but looks like they had character and hockey IQ in mind with their selections (with the exception of the last pick)

Outstanding.
Loved the Hamilton trade. Very assertive move. Filled the biggest hole in the organization in one fell swoop.
Loved the decision to move up and draft Kylington. Loved the decision to draft Andersson.

Oh, I don't disagree. But I mean, I just didn't like the "direction" of the pick. "What would Detroit do?"

Been a great couple of days. Absolutely cannot wait to see the progression of Hamilton and Kylington. Imagine these guys both reached their potential. Scary.

This. 1000x.
Other than housekeeping, undrafted and college free agents, and a value pickup for depth. I don't expect to be stunned on July 1, and I'm pleased about that.

On a side note, what happened to Jankowski Jr.? Possible prospect camp invitee?

I don't see any of the last three picks as NHLers and I'm giving this a 9.5

I was yelling at my TV when Boston let Connor or Barzal fall to Edmonton.
Luckily Edmonton ****ed up and let Barzal go to the Isle

The picks don't even matter... A 6'5", 215lb, 22 year-old defenceman with nearly 180 NHL games under his belt (almost 200 total games, including playoffs) isn't something you're supposed to be able to get ever, for any price. Treliving got him for 3 draft picks.
Then, they still went out and got two good sized d-men -- one who was projected to be a top-5 pick prior to the season -- plus some other interesting picks.

I do not see a chance of the Hamilton trade ever being regarded as anything less than a good trade for the Flames and it could well be a franchise changer. Superb.
The draft picks are the kind a confident and successful franchise makes. The draft choices were a product of success breeding success. We already have a good pool of prospects and so it is easy for the team to make high-reward picks rather than safe picks. And that's a great strategy when you have trust in your scouts. The Flames drafted like winners today. I like that.
