I needed this.

The Talbot trade was a good trade in my opinion, so I needed to see them screw up somewhere else. Where better to screw up than on D?

Thanks, Oil.

I like Marincin, Oilers rush and then give up on a young player too early again.

Were the Oilers starting to think that they were getting oddly close to potentially having a few top 4 D-men? Better ship one out.

Marincin for a guy that already busted. Wow.

Guess they thought they might have too many potential top 4 dmen when they got Reinhart so decided to throw one out

Are we talking about the Brad Ross that has spent time with the Orlando Solar Bears the past two seasons?

actually, we are talking about the Brad Ross that has spent time with the Orlando Solar Bears the past two seasons, was suspended for 20 games for the use of steroids last season and signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters in Germany a few weeks ago. So all in all, the perfect Edmonton Oiler.

Head scratcher for sure.

His size, age, position and potential are all exactly what Edmonton should be looking at acquiring.

Must be a little more to the story.

No to mention, if they really wanted a young goalie (a la Lack, Lehner, Talbot) you'd think that the Senators or Canucks at least would have had interest in Marincin. Hell, I suspect you could have had Lack for Marincin straight up.

For a team that needs to develop defensive prospects, the Oilers always seem to do counterproductive things. Smid the only one playing defence? Out. Petri looks decent. Out. Marincin developing. Out.

Meanwhile, Justin Schultz become a turnover machine and can't play defense. Extension.
