I knew someone would say this. That's why I put it in quotations. Everything he alledgedly did is violent. No blood or guts or beating etc.. Is what I was getting at.

"The case was first filed in 2014. Ribeiro is accused of numerous unwanted sexual advances on the nanny between 2007, when she was 12, and 2012, when she was 18".
Maybe I'm missing something here but, who in the hell has a 12 year old nanny?

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I wasn't trying to imply that you were sanitizing it. I am sure we're on the same level about the seriousness of the crime (if the allegations are true). I was just arguing semantics.

On the surface it seems like a lot of those made up allegations where the accuser is pressed for details and the truth starts to emerge. Any time police don't lay charges it's huge hint.

I was wondering the same thing. Reading the document it looks more like she started as a babysitter more than a true nanny. It may have moved onto being a nanny later, but it started as just babysitting.

Just checking: do you mean "sick" in a good way or a bad way?

I will ask this question:
If she felt harassed and uncomfortable, since she started as a 12-year old, why did she stick around.
Funny how, after the family moved away from Dallas, and she lost her job, she filed a complaint. Suddenly she wasn't making $30/hr as a babysitter/nanny anymore, and she couldn't find a job?
That said, if Ribeiro did even one thing she claims, I hope he gets the electric chair!

Really...are we going to question the decision making of a potentially abused pre-teen?

Yes we sure are. Question the (alleged) victim with a strong element of blame. "If it happened once, she should have just left." Perhaps if she was 12 she was terrified to tell anyone, including her parents. And the prospect of not babysitting for them meant she would have to explain a valid reason for giving up the gig. Maybe her parents were friends with the Riberios. It could have been a number of reasons. But yeah. Lots of 12 year olds cook up extortion plots and then bide their time for 5 or 6 years before lowering the boom on the guy to "cash in".
Also sorry Flameswin but I disagree that "because the police didn't press charges" the story is fishy. Look at the Duggar family. No charges there and the Duggar brother fully admits he abused multiple victims including family members (I'm being generous with the use of past-tense, there). If she waited a year (or more) to come forward and got an unsympathetic cop, maybe that's all there was to it.
But really. Who knows. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. And none of us were there and none of us have all the details of the case from both sides.

Predators forward Mike Ribeiro and his wife have settled out-of-court with a former nanny who made graphic sexual assault claims against the 35-year-old center, some of which allegedly occurred when she was a teenager.
The court-appointed mediator filed a report with the court late Wednesday afternoon saying that an eight-hour mediation July 6 resulted in a settlement of the suit.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
"This civil matter has been amicably resolved without incurring further time-consuming and potentially costly litigation," Ribeiro's attorney, Brian Lauten of Dallas' Deans & Lyon, said in a statement to NashvillePost.com.
