I doubt CTV is going to pick him up.

He's going to end up doing weather for some independent TV station for a town of 100 in the wilds of Saskatchewan.

Not so sure. I think he is quite popular (as much as a CBC host can be). It isn't exactly a toxic scandal.

He has to be #3 on the CBC popularity list, behind Mansbridge and Mesley. He's also much younger than both.

He'll be snapped up quickly I think.

behind Mesley? Not my list! Lost in all this is that this guy is obviously one hell of an art broker. If I were him, I'd just do that.

CTV doesn't mind a little sleeze. Just look at Duffy and Wallin.

Nothing to see here. Once you sign your employers conflict of interest policy you are subject to dismissal immediately if you beach any of the examples in the policy. The fact that other employees may have got away with worse infractions doesn't change the fact that you opened yourself up to termination.

I now fear for Grant Lawrence. It seems any CBC personality I like ends up being involved in activities that they shouldn't be.

He'll end up on a major network.

Any chance this firing is part of the the PM's emasculation of the CBC? I don't know enough about Solomon to know if he stepped on Conservative toes but they just appointed another Conservative bagman to the CBC board of directors.

Quote:
It hardly requires a stretch of the imagination to reason that he got the appointment because he’s been a loyal worker for the party who will likely do its bidding in the further emasculation of the CBC which, as we know, is not one of the Prime Minister’s most favoured entities.
