Fair enough. I always thought Iginla came across as a bit of a savvy business guy, I could actually see him involved in municipal politics or owning a business (restaurant?) or as some sort of real estate agent.

If he's involved in the game, my guess is its within the NHLPA, he's historically been a bit of a soldier for them.

Judging from what we know of Lou Lamoriello, I would say that he is too stubborn/strict to hire someone with little to no experience as the assistant GM. Comparatively, St. Louis has a history of giving positions to Hall of Famers without any strong reasoning.

Lou also probably wants to hire more experienced people so that he does not have to help micromanage the team as much.

I would not be surprised to see Brodeur go back to NJ once he has more experience, but this will only probably be if he actually deserves it.

Kind of an aside but I think that goalies make good management personnel because they have the best seat in the house to a ####load of games. This is especially true of a guy like Brodeur, who played 75+ games a season and most of those games he faced a very low workload, so he could watch the games unfold.

I can agree with that. I think he will be involved in the Blazers more and maybe Hockey Canada.
