Actually Chiarelli's trades haven't been all that great so we will have to wait and see.

Hammond is set to be a UFA on July 1. The Sens won't get anything for him in a trade (same as the Flames with Ramo).

Hopefully the Oilers offer him a nice contract.

Yeah, its going to be an interesting situation in OTT now. Anderson could be the guy to go and they run with Lehner and Hammond while O'Connor develops in the AHL.
Lehner hasn't been that great this year though and how can you gamble with Hammond being as good as he was in his short time up with the Sens?

But Anderson could get you a great return from a team needing a stable net minder.

Personally, I'd deal Anderson as I feel the return would be better than the calculated risk of running with a Lehner/Hammond duo.

Hammond will be a flash in the pan... just watch.

They should go with Anderson and Lehner while O'Connor learns in the AHL.

to me Hammond is another Jim Carey, Andrew Raycroft etc.

guys dont go from below average in the AHL to elite NHL starters, most guys in the AHL cant make the jump to being backups in the NHL

I agree with these points. Hammond strikes me as someone who went on a hot streak but will never be anything more than an average back up.

The Sens would be best going with Anderson and Lehner however that would mean they lose Hammond for nothing. From an asset management perspective I can see them trading Anderson or Lehner so they at least get something in return for one of their goalies.

Bob McKenzie (at least I think it was him) was saying a few weeks back that he doesn't even think Hammond will get a one way contract next season.

I don't agree with McKenzie or whoever it is on Hammond. The way he played this season, Sens fans will be very unhappy if Ottawa does not even try or not sign Hammond in one way contract. I also think Robin Lehner will be traded. Maybe the Oilers will try to trade for Craig Anderson or even Lehner because they needed a goaltender badly. Chiarelli knows those two goaltenders. Question is, are they willing to give up what Ottawa are going to be asking? Ottawa's goaltender tandem next season : Hammond with Anderson or Lehner while O'Connor starting in AHL.
