I know the Flames played a couple of bad games, but I don't like the negativity that seems to have crept in amongst the fans. Even the GDT puts a negative spin on their chances. I know things were grim in Anaheim, but I want to see what this team looks like on home ice before throwing in the towel.

As many have posted in the ticket thread, there is still tons of tickets available on TicketMaster and nobody is getting hits on CP's resale forum or other ticket resale sites. Come on, Calgary! I can't believe so many people outside CP have given up already. Sad.
I tried to get tickets on Sunday but there was nothing available. Thanks for the heads up! GFG
Ferland back would be such a boost to this team but also to the home crowd, even if not at 100%. I think him being hurt took the wind out of a lot of sails.
Just picked up 2 tix for tonight...crazy how many are available. Win or lose we have been to round 2 twice in 25 years...don't take this for granted Calgary! GFG!

Available tickets probably has a lot to do with the Tax filing deadline extension and the Provincial Election. Lots going on today but I'm sure it'll fill up.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Maybe create a new thread? Might be a lot of people interested in tickets who won't see this in the GDT.
Not an elimination game, but the biggest "must win" we've had all season. No holding back tonight -- if we don't come away with two points we're left playing for pride on Friday.
Need a good start, a first period goal, and some sharp goaltending. Don't count this team out just yet...
Diaz drawing in could be a big difference as that would likely save 2-4 minutes of ice time on the top 4. That might just be enough for that extra pinch or two that leads to a goal because the D have just a bit more in the tank.
Get the first goal and the first big hit - that'll engage the crowd and the Flames ride that to victory.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but is there any possibility that Hartley is trying to mislead everyone by saying Gio is really far away from being ready to play?
I'm wondering the same thing. Last we heard he was cleared for "limited contact" which seems to indicate that his recovery is progressing.
Even if he's not 100%, if he's at small risk of aggravating the injury I think we see him out there. He would be a huge upgrade of the 3rd pairing in limited minutes.
Hopefully some Alberta songs will help the boys out tonight! Some of these are my favorite all time songs. Not exactly pump up songs, but maybe some positive mojo going forward. Enjoy
Not exactly an Alberta song, but it's implied

What!? Let's not be like Canucks fans here. I went to Game 1 in Van and it was pathetic to see so many empty seats.
True story. Last night I found out I won the SportChek seat draw and went down to buy my tix. There were two guys in front of me in line who didn't speak english very well. They were of Asian decent and clearly new to the city. In their broken english, they were trying to find out how they could get a Flames jersey with a name on the back. These guys were so beyond excited to go to the game. HUGE smiles on their faces. They could barely understand what the guy behind the counter was telling them about stitched vs iron on name bars, but they knew the names of all the players no problem. One guy wanted a Ferland jersey and was so disappointed to hear that he wouldn't be able to have the name on it for game time. They were not going without a jersey!
This is what this young Flames team is all about. Getting people excited and bringing the community together to get behind a team that is a massive underdog. I told the two of them I would meet them in the beer gardens tonight. Not sure if they understood, but if I see them I'm buying them beers for sure.
"And everybody loves a comeback
So come on back, now, comeback, comeback
Everybody loves the underdog
Singing that's my dog, that's my dog"

You're not in trouble until you loose a game at home.
Anaheim did what they were supposed to being the #1 seed. Win both their home games.
The scenario I can see for this series in my head is that the Flames win games 3 and 4, then go to Anaheim with momentum and win a close one in game 5, then come home and close it out in game 6.
I know it's a long shot but that is how I could see Calgary winning this series.
