The bottom line is we are still better than the Canucks, and no worst than the Jets

Not sure Ramo can be any better than he was and the team still got schooled for the most part.

Their best players are playing poorly at best and very little ability to generate offense... just a not a lot to be positive about.

Lots of pushback tonight -- still not enough chances generated 5 on 5 but we were in it until the Ducks got the insurance goal.

Strong performance by Ramo; d-zone coverage was also much tighter. Odd man rushes were a killer in the first period but that is the price you pay sometimes.

Forward lines are a mess right now. Back to the drawing board -- not sure if last change will be all that helpful but any advantage will help.

I underestimated the impact of Wolf -- obviously not the gamechanger like Ferland was in the Canucks series but he at least made is presence known. That said, hope the extra rest means we can get Ferland back from Game 3.

I have faith in our ability to come back after watching Andersen. He farts out juicy rebounds left, right and centre. Our problem is that we aren't getting quality shots and have no one getting to the net. Full marks to the Ducks for that but if we can figure it out, we could make things interesting.

Monahan has been useless too. Worst I think he's played in his short career.

Picked a crappy time to do it.

Way better second period and most of the third. Had some momentum, just couldn't find a goal. We're making Andersen look good, need to bear down more in front of the net.

We proved tonight we can play with them, we just have to start scoring. Another huge learning curve for a young team.

It's going to be tough winning 4 out of the next 5. We just have to take it one game at a time. I'm not throwing in the towel. We'll leave that to the Duck fans and their stupid orange towels. Way to ruin a perfectly good colour.

20 years old, likely playing injured.

We'll be fine.

I know we lost but I see some positive things that happened in this game. Flames played well enough after the first period. Score was deceiving though. Nope, I still don't buy the freaking curse. Flames have to cut down on their mistakes though especially early in the game. Karri Ramo was spectacular tonight and I don't think there is any question on who will start next game. Flames played the Anaheim game in the first, then when they went back to basic Flames games, they were much better. Anaheim eliminated Dennis Wideman on the picture. They keyed on him and would rather see Russell shoot more.

Back in Calgary for Game 3 & 4 and I can definitely think we will score more goals.

Playoffs facing center depth like the ducks at his age will do that. Hopefully he's learning from it.

Ducks looked mortal that game at least...it seems they still have that regular season issue of playing down to their opponents as the first 10 minutes in the 2nd showed.

Flames need to find a way to get to Andersen and obstruct his view by getting in close; the Ducks are doing an excellent job boxing out the Flames. Almost every shot is low difficulty for Andersen...the ones he had a bit of difficult traffic on were wreaking havoc but the Ducks got to all the rebounds first. The Flames have found their legs and seem to know how to keep up with the Ducks but still haven't had a goal on Andersen which wasn't gift wrapped.

I'd imagine at this point a lot of our players are playing with injuries that would keep them out of regular season games.

Just hasn't been a good playoffs for him at all. Pretty easy shut out for Andersen as the Flames simply haven't been driving to the net as there were rebounds but no Flames around the net.
So it appears this is a thing now. Obviously not close to the truth. He had the Getzlaf line all night which is always going to lead to some tough shifts.

Honestly, the Flames biggest issue right now is that the 1st line can't generate anything. Probably injuries playing a part, but those guys are relied on to not only score, but generate momentum. Right now it's not happening.

We were the better team for a good part of the game. That is a positive.

At home, I don't think the Flames will come out flat like they did tonight and Thursday night.

Terrible 1st period, but Ramo did a great job to keep them in it. Much better second and third but too many missed opportunities. Rebounds that no one could get to and unable to get pucks through the Ducks' defense. Impressed by the difference from game 1 and that should give the young Flames confidence in being able to compete against the Ducks.

So happy we don't have to wait 2 days before the next one. Hoping the C of Red can lift this team to hold both games at home!!!!

Go Flames Go!

I recall when the Flames and Oilers eliminated the Wings in successive seasons (2004, 2006) that Datsyuk was getting a lot of flack for disappearing in the playoffs. Heck even Stamkos until tonight wasn't getting it done for a couple of playoffs now. It's a different game in the playoffs. There is less room and everything is magnified the good and bad. I'm not down on him or Gadreau as it's a learning experience. I'm a little more disappointed in the veteran guys like Hudler and even Backlund who is in the prime of his career now.
