I agree that a split in Anaheim is key: get it, and the statement is made that the Flames are in the series. Sweep, and the Ducks are rolling and the Flames face the doubt.
I agree that a huge issue to play out is how effectively the Ducks can crash the net as well as control down low. They will be looking to wear out the D.
For the Flames, they need to be able to establish and maintain the forecheck. And pound guys like Vaatanen as much as possible.
Some good goaltending and a timely PP, and I think the Flames can surprise.
With a split, Flames in 7.
Without, Ducks in 5.

I think it's important to remember that the Jets played the Ducks at least straight up in the first 3 games - and some would argue they were the better team. A few stupid penalties, combined with the fact that they lost the goaltending battle, did them in. If not for those two things, the Jets are probably up 2-1 in the series.
The Flames will be more disciplined. We'll see how the goaltending battle goes.
But when teams play smart against them, the Ducks rarely show themselves as dominant.

Flames have to win at least one game at Honda.
They haven't done that since Moses left Moose Jaw.
It will be tough for the Flames to win in less than 7 games. Really hope I'm wrong, but home team wins every game except game 6.

The Stajan line shuts down Getzlaf-Perry. The Monahan line is matched with the Kesler line and doubles up on them on the scoresheet. Ferland continues to make the opposing d-men's lives hell. The Backlund line is a complete mismatch and provides much of the offense.
Gonna go out on a limb and say the Flames sweep the Ducks. Liked what I saw form the Flames versus the Ducks this season, think they bode well. Call me a homer or whatever, but I don't think this'll be a long series like many are predicting.

Wow...that's a big prediction. Dunno Cannon. Can't see the Ducks going out like that.

Tough series, but Flames never quit and wear the Ducks down.
Flames in 7.

Ducks dominate games 1 and 2, but the Flames steal game 2. Flames then are the better team at home and with both games by at least 2 goals. Ducks try to adapt back at the Honda center, but Flames get in their heads early, and win the series in game 5 by 4 goals.

Calgary rips Anaheim a new butthole and finishes off those sad sacks of #### in four abusive games. Anaheim trades their core in the off-season after finally waking up from the pounding they receive. The Ducks eventually move to Seattle.

Ducks are the ones with all the pressure here. I wonder if that will have an effect on them.
Flames couldn't care less and are riding the high of being oblivious to the pressure of expectations.
I expect this to be a psychological advantage for the Flames.

Saprykin, that guy actually was getting better as the playoffs went on that year. Hopefully Ferland can get Beauchemin the same way Saprykin took out Chelios.

Acknowledging the high unlikeliness, how great would a 2004 SCF rematch be?
Tampa just dropped Detroit.........
