Man I never get to work early enough to even finish the song playing on the radio.

But I start at 6AM too. You push that wake up alarm as far as it can go.

It's with Fido, 2 years free if you go on their new plans which might be counterproductive.

Yeah, probably not worth it then. My current plan will be taken only from my cold, dead hands. How many Canadians can say that they actually like their mobile plan?

I have long thought of car wi-fi as a hdd that, when parked in my driveway, i can dump content onto, and then stream in the vehicle from the hdd as i drive around.

has anyone seen a small wi-fi module that i can drop onto the end of a hard drive?

Maybe something like an iPod touch would do what you want in some way. I had one in my car that would just pick up my podcasts while my car was parked in the garage and then I'd listen to them in my car. I am sure it can be adapted to grab videos or whatever content you are looking for.

maybe look into Western Digital's wireless passport line:

The Corsair Voyager Air is a great option - creates it own wireless network that anyone in car can connect to and access from HD. It can work either as a portable drive, a mobile storage media/streaming server, or a single-volume NAS server. Looks almost prefect.

I was looking at a new Dodge last week:

WHEREVER YOU ROAM.
WiFi Hotspot+ is on-demand WiFi+ 3G connectivity that's built-in and ready to go whenever you are. Once your vehicle is registered for Uconnect® Access+, you can purchase a WiFi Hotspot subscription at the Uconnect® Store+. After you've made your purchase, turn on your signal and connect your devices. It's never been easier to bring your home or office with you.

I don't think people order it very often because they did not know much about it. They would put a box in your car for about $600, then you have to buy data. I'm confused, maybe Hotspot is different than the box?

Simpler to connect your iPod (or a laptop with iTunes)?

^ You can subscribe to a data package for the vehicle, and then share it via an in vehicle hot spot to everyone in the vehicle. You can get 5 GB data for $40/month on data only plan.
Not sure there is value in this versus just creating a hotspot with your phone as required.
