As far as this suspension goes, the Hamhuis/Bennett hit is a non-issue in my mind. That was a bad hit, but not on par with this one. What I am looking at with this decision is things like not suspending Subban for the slash on Stone - even though that was obviously not a head hit - or Byfuglien's assault after a goal.
You spelled character wrong in your title - grammar looks fine though.

Just because the Hamhuis-Bennett hit wasn't as bad as this one, he still went in aiming for head. It should've lead to a suspension.

You think the Subban slash on Stone deserves a suspension but not the headshot on Bennett?

The difference between the kronwall and hamhuis hit is light and day. Kronwall planned his hit and launches his body upward into the TB player. The TB player tries to dodge the hit and Kronwall extends both his arms across the other guys face. The velocity, viciousness and danger of the Kronwall hit is 10x the hamhuis hit.

I agree with the one game and also considering it's a game 7 playoff game. That's equivalent to a 6-game suspension in the regular season.

I would agree had the officials called it right at the time and assessed a 5 min major. Instead they gave out a 2 min minor, which IMO wasn't enough. He should have at least been fined so it would have been officially added to his history. NHL dropped the ball.

I my world, I give Kronwall a 3-4 game suspension and Hamhuis gets 1 game. Don't see why playoff games are weighted differently or why the injury status of the victim matters so much. You know if Kucherov was hurt like Horton a few years ago, Kronwall would've been gone for 3 or 4 games.

Was a pretty chippy game that night, thought the outcome of this Garrison hit was pretty bad too.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/g...am-abdelkader/

Abdelkader is already engaged with Stamkos and he jumps and drives his hip into Abdelkader's head.
